Paul Weyrich founded the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), the Heritage Foundation, and the Moral Majority, among other groups.
ALEC, until recently, was pushing Voter ID laws in many states. Outside pressure caused them to disband their elections task force. The National Center for Public Policy Research has said they would “continue the excellent work of [ALEC]” on this issue.
